John Line starred in 70 episodes of the very popular ATV hospital series Emergency Ward 10 as R.S.O. Andrew Shaw between 1962 and 1964.

John's early work in the late 1950s includes his roles in the tv movies Rupert of Hentzau in 1957 and How Say You? in 1959. His other early work includes appearances in No Hiding Place and Z Cars in the 1960s.

John Line's prolific acting career has seen him working in every decade since the 1950s in feature films and some of the most iconic and popular television shows right up to the present time.

John has appeared in Crossroads, Colditz, Dr Who, Paul Temple, The Sandbaggers, Brookside, Howards' Way, Eastenders, The Bill, To Serve Them All My Days (Garside, in a television adaptation in 1980 of the novel by R.F. Delderfield), Secret Army, Survivors, Moody and Pegg and many other series and serials in his career.
