The Mind of Mr J. G. Reeder

Hugh Burden as J. G. Reeder

Hugh Burden stars as J. G. Reeder, an investigator with the Public Prosecutor's Office, in this Thames Television production.

Hugh Burden stars as J. G. Reeder, an investigator with the Public Prosecutor's Office. The series is based on The Mind of Mr J. G. Reeder, a book written in 1925 by Edgar Wallace. This period crime and mystery series set in the 1920s had a run of only 16 episodes: season one in 1969 and season two in 1971.

Reeder has an uncanny ability to think like a criminal and thus, armed only with this insight is able to solve any mystery he encounters. Hugh Burden is perfectly cast as Reeder, who is happier with a cup of tea, as opposed to something stronger! Willoughby Goddard also starred as Reeder's boss at the Department, Sir Jason Toovey, and Mona Bruce played assistant Mrs. Houchin.
